Each group will be comprised of a biology, mathematics and physics representative. You goal is to use the knowledge you have learned to design a model in SimNewton to imitate part of a pitcher’s throwing motion.
The three parts will be:
1. The windup: the extension of the arm such that the baseball and the motion involved.
2. The beginning of the delivery up to the release
3. The release and follow through
Each group will have to simplify the arm and use various components of the SimNewton Model to represent the muscles involved with their particular motion and how those muscles translate into the resultant motion for each part. Each group is to
a. identify the major muscles and what they do to the arm.
b. translate each muscle into specific interaction that can be identified on the simulation
c. simplify the arm into a set of objects that can be identified on the simulation
d. simplify and describe the motion in terms of words and mathematics
e. explain why that motion occurs, using biology physics and math.
Hi, my name is Irina! I'm not very computer savvy as you can probably guess from how long it took me to figure out how to post on here. I am a senior at Heritage High School. I seek to go pre-med in college, I'm particularly interested in neurosurgery. I'm also an aficionado of foreign languages; I speak Russian, French, English, Chinese. Arabic is a personal goal of mine.:) This project got me interested because I love biology and this project allows me to explore the basis of the workings of our body.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a favorite tv show:( But oh well, somehow I'll live.
